Alcoa aluminum: part of the solution
"Alcoa produces aluminum, which can dramatically improve automobile fuel efficiency. A recent life-cycle analysis demonstrated that in automobiles, every ton of aluminum substituted for steel reduces GHG emissions by 20 tons over the vehicles’ lifetime. Using aluminum in rail cars and trucks reduces GHG emissions even further."
