2003
Andrew Blair (Fruitport, Michigan, USA) and Deborah Cronin (Pinjara, Australia) head to Jamaica to help British biochemist Dr. James Crabbe (University of Reading) and his colleagues estimate the impact of multiple environmental factors on and the future prospects of Caribbean reefs. By carefully measuring a diversity of corals and their growth in Jamaica's ideal coral reef habitat, the scientists will be able to simulate normal growth and predict scenarios for how the reefs will weather the future storms of environmental upheaval.
