Conserving the Pantanal
Jose Rios (La Coruna, Spain) and Birthe Reese (Frickenhausen, Germany) will work with a multinational team of scientists in a conservation research center in Brazil's Pantanal, collecting data on a variety of vital links in the Pantanal food web to accelerate the conservation process. The Pantanal is the world's largest wetland—24 times the size of the Florida Everglades in the United States and harboring the most diverse assemblage of tropical American wildlife. November 15-26
