Alcoa Lancaster to Break Ground on New Rail Spur
Lancaster, Pennsylvania -- July 27, 2007 -- Alcoa Lancaster announced that groundbreaking on a new $2.4 million Rail Spur took place at the Lancaster Plant today. Construction of the approximately 300 ft. of single line and 500 ft. of parallel line mile in length rail spur will begin immediately and is expected to be operational by January 2008. The rail spur will connect to the Norfolk Southern Rail line. This is the first major construction project at Alcoa Lancaster since 1997.
